Kids love Sparki!

Looking for a simple and physical way to engage all your learners?  Meet Sparki, the arduino-powered programmable mini-robot from Arcbotics.

Sparki may be small, but he's packed with educational punch!

You don't need to have any prior knowledge to learn along with your class.  Sparki comes preassembled and ready to go.  He's recommended for students nine years old and up, and you'll definitely be able to get a lot of mileage out of this little guy from at least grade four all the way up to university-level courses!

Sparki can be used right out of the box with his pre-loaded programmable remote control. Sparki can be programmed by younger learners with miniBloq, a block-based language like Scratch and Blockly, or more advanced learners can graduate up to "real" text-based programming in C/C++!

Sparki is open-source and there are 100+ educator-written lessons available online for free covering programming, electronics, robotics, and more!

Sparki makes a great class-pet that the kids can train, but he doesn't need feeding, a clean cage, or vet bills!  Set him loose in your classroom, and the students will be training him to fetch in no time!

In just a few weeks our grade sevens have had Sparki drawing our school logo and programming him to run mazes that the students make for him.  The grade fours are delighted when Sparki helps them reinforce their learning in math by coding him to draw perimeters of different polygons.  They even get him to feed our class guinea pig!

Just take take a look at Sparki in action:

Get your own Sparki and launch your students into becoming life-long computational thinkers and makers!  Sparki is available directly from Arcbotics or via my favourite online maker-space, Adafruit!  (NB: I don't get any kick-backs for promoting these products, I just love and highly recommended these guys!)
